Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Kenya's Ambassador to Russia Peter Mutuku Matuki met in Moscow. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Sagintayev, trade turnover between EAEU countries and Kenya in January-May 2026 doubled compared to the same period in 2025.
"The volume of foreign trade in goods between the EAEU countries and Kenya has grown by 8.8% over the past five years and exceeded $460.2 million in 2025. In January-May 2026, trade turnover more than doubled compared to the same period in 2025," said the Chairman of the Board.
Earlier, an action plan for the period up to 2027 was adopted to comprehensively promote trade and economic cooperation with individual states, integration associations, and African development institutions.
The document provides for cooperation between the EEC and the African Union, as well as regional integration associations of the continent.
