Trade turnover between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) states and Cambodia grew by 34% in 2025, amounting to $1.5 billion. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to Arzybek Kozheshov, Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the main drivers of growth were agricultural products, machinery, and the chemical industry. Negotiations on a free trade area with Cambodia are underway, which will allow for further expansion of cooperation.

Speaking at the EAEU-Cambodia Business Council in Astana, Kozheshov said: “Trade and economic ties between our union and Cambodia are developing dynamically. In 2025, trade turnover increased by 34%, indicating great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation.”

Additionally, EEC representatives announced plans to deepen cooperation with Cambodia in digital trade, customs administration, and technical regulation. The Cambodian side expressed interest in expanding access to the EAEU market.

The EAEU includes Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. Cambodia is a developing economy in Southeast Asia, with major exports including clothing, footwear, and agricultural products.
