At a meeting of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, a recommendation "On qualification requirements for the most in-demand professions and positions in the field of inland water transport" was adopted. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the EEC press service, EAEU member states have the opportunity to take these recommendations into account when forming national policy. The implementation of such recommendations falls within the competence of each party and is carried out taking into account domestic legislation, priorities and national characteristics, said Arzybek Kozhoshev, EEC Minister for Energy and Infrastructure.

The adopted recommendation outlines approaches to general and specific requirements for professional knowledge and skills of inland water transport workers, taking into account various qualification levels and specifics of the work performed. The recommendation is aimed at promoting the formation of a common market for water transport services within the EAEU.
