At a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Intellectual Property under the EEC Board, it was announced that 1,782 intellectual property-related violations were registered in EAEU countries in 2025. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to EEC Minister of Economy and Financial Policy Bakyt Sultanov, the level of criminal offenses increased by 36.4%. "Such a level is the first registered case after a long-term decline in the detection of violations," Sultanov said.
The vast majority of violations relate to trademark rights — 85.6%, or 1,525 cases.
The leading counterfeit goods in EAEU countries include clothing and footwear, household appliances and electronics, toys, haberdashery and accessories, auto parts, and alcoholic beverages.
