At a roundtable titled "Using Digital Platforms in Developing Industrial Cooperation within the EAEU," held at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), participants proposed creating a common database for classifying goods, works, and services. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The event discussed issues of developing the platform economy in the industry of the Eurasian Economic Union. According to Vitaly Vovk, Deputy Director of the EEC Department of Industrial Policy, the use of digital platforms offers great opportunities for both industrial development and expanding production cooperation within and between countries.

"Currently, the majority of interaction between businesses and consumers takes place through the platform economy. Such industry-specific digital platforms are also emerging in industry," he said.

According to Vovk, platform technologies such as "production on demand" and "industrial Uber" are actively developing in global practice. These solutions are considered an important part of implementing the concepts of "digital factory" and "digital design bureau." Such models are widely used by developed countries to develop modern industry.

He noted that delaying the introduction of digital platforms in industry could lead to a decline in labor productivity and a threat to the technological independence of the EAEU countries.

Roundtable participants discussed the advantages of digital platforms in developing industrial cooperation and the difficulties encountered in their implementation. Following the meeting, speakers proposed creating a common database of goods, works, services, and manufacturers, as well as launching a common platform for introducing artificial intelligence into industry.
