The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved tariff quotas for imports of certain types of meat and whey into the Eurasian Union for 2027. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the EEC's trade bloc, the quotas were set in accordance with the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, taking into account consumption and production balances in member states, as well as countries' commitments to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

For Kazakhstan and Russia, tariff quotas for 2027 are determined in the volumes fixed in the protocols on accession to the WTO. For Armenia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan, quotas were set taking into account the parties' requests, but not exceeding the difference between consumption and production.

Quotas for beef

  • 01Armenia – 8,000 tonnes;
  • 02Kazakhstan – 21,000 tonnes;
  • 03Kyrgyzstan – 5,000 tonnes;
  • 04Russia – 570,000 tonnes.

Quotas for pork

  • 01Armenia – 14,000 tonnes;
  • 02Belarus – 20,000 tonnes;
  • 03Kyrgyzstan – 2,000 tonnes.

Tariff quotas for poultry meat and offal

  • 01Armenia – 45,000 tonnes;
  • 02Belarus – 10,900 tonnes;
  • 03Kazakhstan – 140,000 tonnes;
  • 04Kyrgyzstan – 58,000 tonnes;
  • 05Russia – 364,000 tonnes.

The tariff quota for importing whey is set for Russia at 15,000 tonnes.
