The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has adopted uniform rules for labeling certain types of electrical products, lighting equipment, and printed circuit boards through identification. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
«Labeling is primarily about transparency in the circulation of goods in our market. The more product groups are labeled, the fewer illegal products there will be on the market, and honest businesses and consumers will feel more confident. For electrical equipment, the legality of goods is a matter of public health and safety. This is how our common market becomes not just a declaration but a daily practice,» said Andrey Slepnev, Minister of Trade of the EEC.
The list of such products includes:
- 01rectifiers and converters;
- 02automotive lighting devices, portable flashlights, lamps, LEDs and light fixtures, printed circuit boards;
- 03relays, sockets, switches, switching equipment, and distribution boards for voltages up to 1000 V.
The Commission reported that the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will independently determine the date and procedures for introducing labeling of new types of products on their territories. They will notify the EEC of the introduction date no later than six months in advance.
Products will be marked with a two-dimensional Data Matrix barcode with cryptographic protection, and identification tools have been developed in accordance with uniform requirements for all countries of the Union.
