About 140 million counterfeit goods have been detected in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) over the past 10 years, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the EEC, from 2015 to 2025, counterfeit products worth over $1.2 billion were seized in the Union's countries. The majority of counterfeit goods included clothing, footwear, perfumes, medicines, and auto parts. The highest number of seizures was recorded in Russia and Kazakhstan.

The commission noted that to combat the spread of counterfeits, information exchange between EAEU countries has been intensified, and joint raids are conducted. A special monitoring system has also been introduced to detect counterfeit goods on digital platforms.
