Over the past five years, agricultural production in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has increased by 12.4%. This was stated by Goar Barseghyan, Member of the EEC Board for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Goar Barseghyan, mutual trade in agricultural products has almost doubled, and exports increased by 40%. In 2025, the Union's food self-sufficiency level reached 93.5%.
"Taking into account the climatic and production capabilities of the states, the member states mutually complement each other's markets," she said.
Production indicators for 2026
In the first half of 2026, agricultural production in the EAEU increased by 0.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Growth was observed in the following countries:
- 01Belarus – by 4.7%;
- 02Kazakhstan – by 4.4%;
- 03Kyrgyzstan – by 4.3%.
Intergovernmental Council decision
At a recent meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, the heads of government of the Union countries were tasked with developing effective measures aimed at supporting the provision of EAEU markets with essential agricultural goods.
