Participation in the Eurasian Economic Union brings significant benefits to countries with small economies, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Overchuk told journalists that during Kyrgyzstan's membership in the EAEU, its economy grew threefold, with GDP tripling, including a 55% increase over the past five to six years.
He said Armenia's economy has also grown almost threefold. "For small economies, this brings significant benefits," he emphasized.
He added that countries' participation in the organization allows them to create new jobs and gain advantages in the markets of member states.
The Eastern Economic Forum is taking place in Vladivostok from September 1 to 4.
