Former US President Joe Biden has significantly weakened while undergoing treatment for aggressive prostate cancer with metastases, though therapy is showing positive results. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to The Washington Post, citing sources close to the politician, the 83-year-old Biden's life now largely revolves around medical procedures. The former White House chief spends time with family, close friends, and longtime aides, rarely appearing at public events.
The newspaper's interlocutors note that treatment appears to be yielding results, but the disease itself and side effects of therapy have noticeably affected the ex-president's physical condition.
The Washington Post also writes that health problems have complicated the implementation of several of Biden's plans. In particular, fundraising for the creation of a presidential library in Delaware has become difficult, and a tour to support his memoirs, scheduled for release on November 17, remains in question.
Biden's diagnosis became known last May. His press service then reported that the former president had been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer with metastases to bone tissue.
Later, Biden said he had begun treatment under the supervision of one of the country's leading specialists and received a favorable prognosis from doctors. Additionally, last month he underwent surgery to remove skin cancer cells.
