The official launch ceremony for the international feature film Armour of God: Ultimatum, starring renowned actor Jackie Chan, took place in Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva highly appreciated Jackie Chan's contribution to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and China.
"I express my gratitude to you for your contribution to promoting Kazakh culture on the world stage and strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries. I wish you success in the upcoming filming work," Balayeva said.
During the meeting, Jackie Chan spoke with talented young artists of Almaty and graduates of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts – young filmmakers. He wished the youth success in their creative endeavors and emphasized the importance of continuous search and love for one's work.
At the end of the meeting, children presented the famous actor with their painted portraits. The event concluded with a group photo with the traditional clapperboard.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan and China's state film company China Film Group Corporation. The film is produced by Kazakhstan's Sәlem Entertainment and Hong Kong's Billion Target.
Filming will take place in Kazakhstan from July to October 2026. The director of the film is Kazakhstani Robert Kuhn. The film is aimed at wide international release. The main filming locations are in Almaty city, Almaty region, and Mangystau region.
