In the Ulan district of the East Kazakhstan region, police used a drone to find 12 horses that had strayed from free grazing. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.
The search was complicated by the large area of the territory and difficult terrain. To inspect the area, police officers used an unmanned aerial vehicle, which allowed them to quickly survey a vast area from the air and determine the location of the herd.
The horses were found 27 km from where they had gone missing. All animals were returned to their owner.
The police noted that the use of unmanned technology made it possible to reduce search time and increase efficiency in open and hard-to-reach areas.
Owners of farm animals were reminded of the need to control their grazing. The department stressed that uncontrolled presence of livestock can lead not only to its loss, but also pose a threat to road safety.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Kazakh videographer Dastan Mukhamedrakhim published a video featuring the Akhal-Teke horse of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev named Akzhan. The horse of rare isabella color was born in Astana, and its name, meaning "Pure Soul", was personally given by the president.
Akzhan also became the hero of publications in the in-flight magazines of Rossiya, Air Astana airlines and the Chinese publication Wings of China. The materials noted that she descends from Akhal-Teke horses Ganatly and Tabys.
