US President Donald Trump stated that the US will assist Venezuela in dealing with the aftermath of a devastating earthquake. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

"By the way, they had a powerful earthquake last night, which you read about, very strong, in Caracas, but we are going to help them," he said during an event at the White House.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that support for Venezuela immediately after the earthquake was expressed by the US, Panama, Qatar, Cuba, Nicaragua, Turkey, Jordan, Colombia, Barbados, the UK, Brazil, and Mexico. Representatives of the United Nations and international financial institutions also contacted the Venezuelan government, stating their readiness to assist in overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster.

According to RIA Novosti, the authorities of El Salvador are ready to send 300 rescuers and medics, as well as 50 tons of equipment and aid to earthquake-stricken Venezuela, reported the country's President Nayib Bukele.

As a result of two powerful earthquakes in Venezuela, 188 people died, another 1,520 were injured, and nearly 40,000 people are listed as missing.
