Kazakh triathlete Diana Erzhanova took 17th place in the women's individual competition at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Erzhanova completed the distance in 1 hour 4 minutes 13 seconds. The Kazakh athlete finished 6 minutes 36 seconds behind the winner.
Winners and medalists
Gold was won by China's Lin Xinyu with a result of 57 minutes 37 seconds. Second place went to her compatriot Huang Anqi – 57:58. Bronze was claimed by Japan's Manami Hayashi – 58:36.
In the overall standings, 17th place went to Diana ERZHANOVA (Kazakhstan) – 1:04.13.
About the competition
The women's individual triathlon was held in Gamagori. Athletes had to cover 750 m swimming, about 20 km cycling and 5 km running. A total of 29 participants were entered.

Earlier, in the men's triathlon, Arlan Zhanabay brought Kazakhstan its first medal of the 2026 Asian Games. The second Kazakh, Ayan Beisenbayev, finished ninth.
Later, cyclist Rinata Sultanova won Kazakhstan's first gold of the Games. She won the individual time trial with a result of 36 minutes 23.72 seconds.
