When salaries of MPs and government members may be raised

Finance Minister Madi Takiyev has said when the moratorium prohibiting salary increases for MPs and government members will end. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

In 2022, Tokayev introduced a five-year moratorium on raising the salaries of government members, regional akims and MPs.

When the moratorium ends

According to the finance minister, more than a year remains before the moratorium expires.

"The moratorium ends on January 1, 2028. Therefore, such issues are not being considered in the 2027 budget," Takiyev said at a briefing at the Kurultai.

MPs disclosed their salaries

It is worth noting that Kurultai deputies recently disclosed their salaries. Five years ago, Mazhilis deputies received approximately the same salary.
