Kurultai deputy Yerlan Saiyrov proposed teaching greeting etiquette to children in schools. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
At today's Kurultai session, Saiyrov sent a deputy request to the Minister of Culture and Information and asked to consider several proposals.
According to him, the culture of greeting is one of the simplest and most visible elements of national identity. And in the context of globalization, it is important to preserve each people's own culture of greeting.
"Kazakh society also had its own established system of greeting. Behind these traditions lie such values as respect for elders, respect for younger ones, and maintaining ties between relatives. The main feature of the Kazakh greeting is restraint. Greeting is one of the simplest, but deepest signs of that cultural code. And a cultural code begins not with loud slogans, but with everyday habit," says Saiyrov.
The deputy believes that this issue should be viewed not as a one-time campaign or educational work, but as a long-term state cultural policy that strengthens national identity.
Proposals:
- 01prepare specific methodological recommendations on greeting etiquette;
- 02introduce greeting etiquette in schools as a permanent element of daily educational work;
- 03consider mechanisms for establishing greeting etiquette through class hours, school rules, mentoring, work with parents, the personal example of teachers, and the daily cultural environment of the school;
- 04together with the systems of preschool, secondary, technical and vocational, and higher education, include national etiquette norms in the content of modern educational work.
