The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has supported the campaign "Save water – save the future!" and called on residents to use water resources carefully. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry, daily habits of each person can save thousands of liters of water per year. Using a glass while brushing teeth instead of leaving the tap open saves up to 6,300 liters of water per year. Replacing a bath with a short shower helps save up to 15,600 liters of water per year, the ministry's statement said.
Additionally, washing fruits and vegetables in a special container rather than under running water can save up to 1,500 liters of water per year. The ministry also emphasized the importance of efficient use of household appliances. Using washing machines and dishwashers with full load allows a family of six to save up to 35,000 liters of water per year.
"Furthermore, installing a dual-flush toilet can save up to 6,000 liters per year, and using sensor taps can save up to 4,500 liters," experts say. The ministry also warned about the need to regularly check taps and plumbing equipment. According to experts, even a small leak can lead to a loss of up to 100 liters of water per day.
Ministry officials stressed that water conservation is the responsibility of every citizen, and preserving natural resources directly affects the future of the next generations.
