The Ministry of Health has reported that the weight-loss drug Mounjaro has not passed state registration in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Bauyrzhan Zhusupov, Chairman of the Pharmacy Committee, there are currently peptide drugs that have passed state registration. However, Mounjaro has not yet been registered.
"Currently, the drug Mounjaro is undergoing examination. Unregistered medicines must not be used. This is considered a violation of the law," Zhusupov said at a government briefing.
According to him, a private clinic using unregistered peptide drugs was previously identified in the Mangystau region. During the inspection, all of the mentioned medicines were confiscated.
It is worth noting that the list of registered medicines can currently be viewed through the Dari KZ mobile application.
