Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova has commented on the young footballers who suffered food poisoning in Tashkent, Qazaqyia.kz reports citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstanis traveled to Uzbekistan for the Dostlik Cup 2026 international football festival. On October 31, after breakfast at the hotel, several children felt unwell. Within 24 hours, the number of those hospitalized reached 15.
«The children's condition is also under online monitoring from our side. The treatment they are receiving fully complies with our protocol. There is no issue of transporting or bringing the children to Kazakhstan. If necessary, we are ready,» Alnazarova said at a government briefing.
According to the minister, the necessary hospital beds had been prepared in the city of Shymkent and Turkestan Region. However, there is currently no need to transport the children.
«This is food poisoning, the Uzbek side is conducting additional investigations. We will publish the information once it is received. But there is no threat to the children's lives,» Alnazarova said.
