What is dengue fever?
Dengue fever is an acute viral disease with symptoms of meningitis, joint inflammation, and rash. The infection is transmitted through bites of mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti, A. These mosquito species are not found in Kazakhstan, but our citizens can become infected with this disease when visiting epidemiologically unfavorable countries. Tropical and subtropical areas include countries of Southeast Asia (e.g., Thailand, Indonesia), South and Central America, and Africa.
Symptoms
Symptoms appear 4–10 days after the bite and last about a week. If you experience these symptoms, consult a doctor immediately.
