Agricultural fairs «Dala Dami» across Kazakhstan this week presented over 7,500 tonnes of food. More than 3,000 tonnes were delivered to Astana, where farmers from two regions brought their produce during the holiday weekend. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
On 24 and 25 October, more than 140 farmers and enterprises from the Karaganda and Kostanay regions presented their products at the capital's «Qazanat» hippodrome. They brought over 3,000 tonnes of agricultural products.
Buyers can purchase products directly from producers, without additional intermediaries. According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the fairs help farmers expand their sales markets and allow the public to buy food at affordable prices.
Interregional «Dala Dami» fairs have been held in Astana since 19 September. During this time, agricultural producers from various regions of Kazakhstan have presented their products in the capital.
In September, farmers from the Kyzylorda and Atyrau regions participated in the fairs. In October, producers from the Aktobe, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Turkestan, North Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions, as well as the Ulytau region, brought their products.
Earlier, «Kursiv» wrote that at «Dala Dami» agricultural fairs, products are offered at prices below market levels. In particular, at some fairs in Astana, organizers promised prices 15–20% below market.
In addition, holiday promotions Republic Day and Bereke Fest are taking place in Kazakhstan until 27 October. They involve 649 retail outlets in all 20 regions of the country. Discounts of up to 50% apply to selected goods.
As «Kursiv» previously reported, clothing, footwear, food and household chemicals were among the most in-demand goods at the holiday sales. Kazakhstanis are actively buying sunflower oil, flour, sugar, cereals, dairy products and eggs at discounts.
