Digital personalized accounting of medicines will cover more than 2 million patients by 2027, the Ministry of Health reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan has introduced a unified digital contour for the circulation of medicines since 2026. That is, all stages are covered, from drug registration to its dispensing to a specific patient.
"Based on the transition to personalized planning and accounting of drug needs at the outpatient level, the need was formed for 2026 for 1.9 million actual patients, and for 2027 for 2.16 million actual patients," the statement said.
This allows for a more accurate determination of who needs which drug and in what volume, as well as planning purchases based on actual needs.
Today, the drug labeling system covers 1.01 billion packages. As a result of ensuring transparency of the drug market through digitalization, an additional 23.9 billion tenge in tax revenues were received into the budget.
According to the ministry, in 2026, within the framework of outpatient drug provision, more than 8.6 million electronic prescriptions were written for 1.9 million patients. Today, 82% of drug dispensing is carried out through the "Social Wallet".
