National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov announced the sectors where the digital tenge will be mandatory. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to him, work on introducing the digital tenge in Kazakhstan is ongoing. "Together with the Ministry of Finance, the procedure for mandatory use of the digital tenge for a number of government expenditures has been regulated," Suleimenov said at today's government meeting.
The digital tenge will be mandatory in the following areas: - When purchasing medical devices, vehicles, fuels and lubricants, and other goods; - In projects for the construction of highways and modernization of energy infrastructure; - When providing budget loans and supporting small and medium-sized businesses; - In the field of tax administration.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov ordered to accelerate the work on introducing the digital tenge. "We need transparency," the prime minister said.
