At the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on June 18-20. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to Akorda, on June 19 the parties will hold high-level negotiations to strengthen political dialogue, as well as discuss prospects for trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

Tokayev and Milatović met in September 2025 on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. At that time, Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan considers Montenegro an important partner in the Balkan region.
