London's Chelsea are ready to part ways with striker Liam Delap, who is one of the rivals of Dastan Satpayev for a place in the team's attacking line. Three Premier League clubs have shown interest in the 23-year-old Englishman. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing The i Paper.
Clubs interested in Delap
According to the source, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Everton are considering the possibility of acquiring Delap. Chelsea value the player at between £35 million and £40 million. Despite having five years left on his contract, the Blues are ready to consider a full sale of the player.
Nottingham Forest are looking for a forward who can compete with Chris Wood and replace him if necessary. The team's head coach Oliver Glasner rates Delap highly and has instructed the club's management to start work on a possible transfer. Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is ready to support the specialist in the transfer market.
Everton's head coach David Moyes has also shown interest in the player. The Liverpool club need strengthening in attack, and Delap is seen as a striker around whom they can build their forward play.
Leeds' chances
Leeds are also monitoring the situation, as they look for a competitor for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. However, sources call a possible transfer ambitious for the club at this stage. After acquiring goalkeeper James Trafford from Manchester City for around £40 million, Leeds' options in the transfer market are limited. To buy Delap, the club would likely have to sell several players first.
Delap's journey at Chelsea
Delap moved to the London club from Ipswich in June 2025. Chelsea activated a release clause of £30 million and signed the striker on a contract until the summer of 2031. In the previous season, the Englishman scored 12 goals in 37 Premier League matches for Ipswich.
Delap's first season at Stamford Bridge was less productive. The forward made 41 appearances in all competitions, started only 16 times, scored two goals and provided four assists. In the English championship, he has one goal in 28 matches.
Impact on Satpayev
The departure of the Englishman would reduce the number of rivals for Satpayev in the attacking line. Both players were included in Chelsea's squad for the pre-season tour of Australia and Asia. Delap primarily plays as a central striker, while the Kazakh can operate both centrally and on the flank.
In the first friendly match under Xabi Alonso, Satpayev started on the left flank and scored against Western Sydney Wanderers. After the match, Chelsea's head coach called the Kazakh a special player, highlighting his speed, physical preparation and ability to create threats on goal.
However, a possible sale of Delap does not yet mean that Satpayev is guaranteed to remain in the first team for the 2026/27 season. Competition in Chelsea's attack remains high, and the coaching staff has not yet announced a final decision on the Kazakh's future – a place in the first team or a loan.
