The compact crossover Changan UNI-S has received vehicle type approval (OTTS) for the Kazakhstan market. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The car will be available with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and the official distributor Astana Motors is already bringing the model to the local market.
Technical specifications
The UNI-S is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 181 hp (280 Nm) and a 7-speed robotic gearbox.
The front-wheel-drive crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive version takes 9.5 seconds. In addition to Eco, Normal, and Sport modes, the AWD version also gets settings for snow, mud, and sand.
Dimensions
The UNI-S is 4.55 m long, 1.87 m wide, and 1.68 m high. The wheelbase differs by 6 mm between versions: 2.656 m for the FWD and 2.65 m for the AWD.
About the model
In essence, the UNI-S is an updated Changan CS55 Plus that has been renamed and moved to the more prestigious UNI line. Technically, the models are close, and the CS55 Plus remains one of the most sought-after crossovers among gray dealers in Kazakhstan.
Interior and equipment
The cabin features a digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central screen. The system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the interface is available in Kazakh. The audio system has eight speakers.
Equipment also includes a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, and eco-leather upholstery.
Safety systems
Driver assistance systems include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, and a traffic jam assistant. A 360-degree camera system provides surround view.
Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that the seven-seat Changan CS75 Pro is entering the Kazakhstan market and will be produced at the AMMKZ multi-brand plant.
