The organizer of budget embezzlement has been brought from Vietnam. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
He is suspected of organizing the embezzlement of 2.5 billion tenge in budget funds during public procurement at the Center for Forensic Examinations of the Ministry of Justice.
Recall that within the framework of the Comprehensive Plan to Combat Drugs and Drug Trafficking for 2023–2025, more than 10 billion tenge was allocated from the republican budget to strengthen the material and technical base of forensic examination bodies.
"However, the suspect, in collusion with the center's director R. Satybaldiev, head of the procurement department D. Iskenderova, and heads of Mark Invest LLP and Direct Services LLP A. Shintemirova, organized the embezzlement of budget funds by unjustifiably inflating equipment costs up to three times and using false commercial offers," the statement said.
By court verdict, the three defendants were found guilty, their property confiscated, and they were sentenced to imprisonment from 3 to 8 years.
In March 2025, the organizer was placed on the international wanted list, and with court sanction, a preventive measure in the form of arrest in absentia was applied.
At the beginning of this year, he was detained in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and subsequently brought to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The criminal case has been sent to court.
