The official distributor of BYD in Kazakhstan has begun accepting pre-orders for three new plug-in hybrid vehicles. The lineup includes the Seal 6 sedan, the compact crossover Yuan Up DM-i, and the seven-seat flagship Atto 8. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to Kursiv Avto, the first cars will arrive at dealers in August.

BYD Yuan Up DM-i – the most affordable option

The most affordable offering is the BYD Yuan Up DM-i, priced at 12.7 million tenge. The crossover features a hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and an 18 kWh Blade battery. The manufacturer claims fuel consumption from 3.1 L/100 km, up to 110 km of electric-only range, and a total range of up to 1,100 km on the NEDC cycle.

Equipment includes an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch multimedia screen, a panoramic roof, a 360-degree camera, 50 W wireless charging, heated front seats and steering wheel, and V2L functionality for powering household appliances.

BYD Seal 6 – sedan for 13 million tenge

For 13 million tenge, Kazakhstani buyers can get the BYD Seal 6 sedan in Flagship trim. The plug-in hybrid combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a 15.8 kWh battery. Average fuel consumption is claimed at 3.4 L/100 km, with a total range of 2,020 km.

Key features include a rotating 15.6-inch multimedia screen, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, seven airbags, a suite of electronic driver assists, and a 504-liter trunk.

BYD Atto 8 – flagship hybrid

The flagship of the new hybrid lineup in Kazakhstan is the BYD Atto 8, priced at 23.5 million tenge. The seven-seat crossover is equipped with the DM-p system featuring a 1.5-liter turbo engine and two electric motors. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, can travel up to 152 km on electric power alone, and has a combined range exceeding 1,000 km.

Equipment includes intelligent DiSus-C suspension, a three-row cabin, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a DiSound audio system with 21 speakers, a panoramic roof, and an extended set of electronic driver assistance systems.

Localization and warranty

According to the distributor, all three models have received localization of the multimedia system and support for the proprietary mobile app for the Kazakh market. The vehicles come with a 6-year or 150,000 km warranty, an 8-year or 150,000 km warranty for the traction battery and electric motor, and a 4-year or 120,000 km warranty for chassis components.

Pre-orders are now being accepted at official BYD dealerships in Kazakhstan. The first production cars will go on sale in August 2026.
