Eleven people were injured in a road accident involving a passenger bus in the Akmola region, the regional police department reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The accident occurred on June 14 at about 13:10 on the Shchuchinsk-Burabay highway. According to police, a Volvo bus and a Changan car were involved.
The bus was traveling on the Astana-Burabay route, carrying holidaymakers to the resort area. According to the department, it veered into the oncoming lane, collided with the Changan car, and then hit a tree.
"As a result of the accident, 11 people were injured, including nine bus passengers and two people from the Changan car," the Akmola region police department reported.
The police also noted that since the beginning of the year, more than 300 bus drivers have been held administratively liable for traffic violations.
Police officers urged public transport drivers to be careful on the roads and strictly follow traffic rules.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that two children and two adults were injured in a bus accident in the Pavlodar region.
