Mountains Kokshetau and Bolektau in Burabay National Park have been temporarily closed to visitors due to high fire danger. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The restrictions are in effect from August 10 to 20. The reason is the establishment of IV-V class fire danger in the area.
The national park noted that the measure is necessary for the safety of visitors and the prevention of forest fires.
"During periods of high fire danger, dry forest litter and vegetation become especially vulnerable to ignition, and the spread of fire under unfavorable weather conditions can occur very quickly," the Burabay State National Natural Park reported.
Residents and guests of the resort area were asked not to attempt to enter closed routes and to comply with fire safety requirements.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a driver of a sightseeing electric bus was detained in Burabay for transporting five passengers while intoxicated. Medical examination showed a moderate degree of intoxication, and the man had previously been deprived of his driver's license. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated.
