In the Bukhtarma Reservoir near the village of Sarybel, Samar District, East Kazakhstan Region, rescuers found and brought to shore two women who had drifted away on an inflatable boat. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The women, born in 1993 and 1997, went for a ride on the reservoir but did not make contact for a long time and did not return to shore. The husband of one of the vacationers raised the alarm. The man called for help at 112, after which the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) launched a search operation.

"Rescuers found the boat with the women and safely delivered them to shore. The vacationers did not require medical assistance," the MES reported.

The ministry reminded that before going on the water, it is necessary to consider weather conditions, not to swim far from the shore on inflatable craft, and to inform relatives about your route. Rescuers also recommend always wearing a life jacket, even if the walk seems short and safe.

Earlier, Kursiv reported on the rescue of a man who fell from a suspension bridge into the Irtysh River in Semey.

The Bukhtarma Reservoir is one of the largest in Kazakhstan, with an area exceeding 5,500 square kilometers. Following safety rules in such conditions is crucial. MES specialists continue to conduct awareness work among the population to prevent water accidents. Special attention is paid to the behavior of vacationers on water bodies during the summer season.

More details about the rescue operation can be found on the official MES website and in the Kursiv publication.
