Alexander Bublik (371) and Nick Kyrgios (1310) secured their first victory in the doubles draw of the Stuttgart Open. The Kazakh-Australian duo defeated Swiss Jakub Paul (71) and American Ryan Seggerman (76) 6:3, 2:6, 10:6. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Bublik and Kyrgios won the first set with a break in the fourth game, while all other games saw flawless serving. In the second set, Paul and Seggerman broke their opponents' serve twice. On the super tiebreak, Paul and Seggerman led 4:2, but Bublik and his partner turned the match around with powerful serves and confident returns.

In the quarterfinals, the pair with 50% Kazakh content will face Estonia's Daniil Glinka (unranked in doubles) and Greece's Stefanos Sakellaridis (570).

Earlier, Bublik (11) avenged his recent Roland Garros loss to Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff (77) in the singles first round, winning 7:6 (7:3), 3:6, 6:2. To reach the semifinals, the Kazakh will face France's Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (93).

The Stuttgart Open, now called the Boss Open, has been held since 1916. Its winners include Henri Leconte, Ivan Lendl, Andre Agassi, Goran Ivanišević, Gustavo Kuerten, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer.

The defending champion is Taylor Fritz of the USA, who defeated future Roland Garros 2026 champion Alexander Zverev of Germany in last year's final 6:3, 7:6 (7:0).

The prize fund of the ATP-250 tournament in Stuttgart is €750,320.

The grass-court tournament series precedes the third Grand Slam of the calendar year. Wimbledon 2026 will take place from June 29 to July 12.
