Candidate for UN Secretary-General Olara Otunnu said that resolving the conflict in Ukraine should be a priority for the head of the world organization. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"Today we are facing major conflicts around the world. These conflicts should be a special priority for the Secretary-General: seeking opportunities for engagement, involvement, study, listening, proposing solutions... I am referring in particular to the conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, the African Great Lakes region, Sudan, Iran, the Horn of Africa, and the Sahel," he said.

Otunnu ultimately noted that the solution will rest with the parties to the conflict and key players.
