UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for a full and immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Speaking on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek, Guterres said: "More than four years have passed. It is time to completely and immediately stop the fighting in Ukraine. This will open the way to negotiations for a just, lasting and comprehensive peace in accordance with international law, including the UN Charter and relevant resolutions."
The UN chief's statement comes amid international efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He stressed the importance of peace negotiations.
