Former Kyrgyz MP spotted working as courier in the US

Social media is discussing an unexpected video of former Kyrgyz parliament deputy and ex-Minister of Labor Ulukbek Kochkorov. In the published footage, the politician is loading packages into a car. The video's authors claim that he now works as an Amazon courier in Chicago. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Many users supported the former politician, noting that there is nothing shameful in any work. Others were surprised that a person who held high government positions and participated in presidential elections is now delivering packages.

"When a delivery job can support a whole family — that's a land of opportunity," "That means he wasn't involved in corruption and didn't prepare a financial cushion for himself," "Good guy, respect to him," "Respect to him if this is true," "Let him work, we are all human. Life is unpredictable: today a minister — tomorrow a courier, and maybe vice versa. The main thing is to remain a fair and honest person," commenters write.

Ulukbek Kochkorov is well known in Kyrgyzstan. Over the years, he was a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh from the Ata-Zhurt party, participated in the 2017 presidential elections, and in 2018 headed the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the country.

After the political events of 2020, Kochkorov left public service. In recent years, he has been living with his family in Chicago and leading a non-public lifestyle. The former official himself has not yet commented on the video that appeared online or the information about his possible work in the delivery sector.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that deputy Bazarbek sent his wife to work because of a "small" salary.
