Restrictive measures have been introduced in two villages of the Kostanay region due to brucellosis. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the regional veterinary department, restrictions have been imposed in the village of Baikozha in the Karabalyk district and the village of Karakalpak in the Auliekol district. In Baikozha, brucellosis was detected in 15 head of livestock, while in Karakalpak, 8 head were found infected.

As part of the restrictive measures, entry and exit from the villages are limited, and the sale of livestock is prohibited. Slaughter of infected animals and use of their meat is also not allowed. Veterinary specialists are taking necessary measures to prevent the spread of the infection.

Brucellosis is an infectious disease transmitted from animals to humans. It causes abortions in livestock, infertility, and other complications. In humans, brucellosis manifests with fever, joint pain, and other symptoms.

The akimat of the Kostanay region urges residents to observe precautionary measures and conduct veterinary inspections of livestock.
