At the British airbase Fairford, from which US forces have launched strikes on Iranian targets, police detained several men with explosives. Residents of nearby homes were evacuated. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to security services, military sappers are currently checking vehicles.
“In the Welford area, residents of a number of homes are being evacuated after a major incident was declared. This is linked to the detention of several men on suspicion of offences under the Explosive Substances Act,” Gloucestershire Police said.
Situation near the base
Armed police blocked the main entrance to the base. About 30 emergency service vehicles gathered in the village of Fairford, and a helicopter flew over the area.
The UK had previously allowed the US to use Fairford for strikes on Iranian missile sites, which London said were used to attack vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
In July, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that bases involved in such strikes could become targets for retaliatory attacks. British police have not yet reported the motives of the detainees.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that US President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s proposed plan for a seven-day truce and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
