In the Syrym district of West Kazakhstan Region, a kindergarten accountant has been suspected of embezzling over 30 million tenge of budget funds. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, an inspection by the district prosecutor's office found that the kindergarten accountant had been unjustifiably transferring additional funds to her bank account for 5 years in amounts exceeding the salary approved by the staffing schedule.

A pre-trial investigation is currently underway. The sanction of this norm provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property and a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities.
