Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozymbayev has stated that every official responsible for the tragic incident in the Mangystau region will be held strictly accountable before the law. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"The investigation will be conducted as thoroughly, comprehensively and promptly as possible. Every official responsible for the tragic incident will be held strictly accountable before the law," Bozymbayev said.
The deputy prime minister noted that the state will not leave the families of the deceased without support. "Each family of the fallen servicemen will receive substantial financial assistance, as well as all necessary support. I will personally oversee the investigation and the work to assist the families," said the deputy prime minister.
Recall that on September 24, an emergency occurred during exercises in the Mangystau region: due to a sharp deterioration in weather and increased wind, 17 servicemen were swept away by waves in the Caspian Sea. The death toll has reached 12. Three servicemen were rescued, one of whom was hospitalized. Doctors reported that his condition is serious but stable. The search for the remaining two servicemen continues.
A government commission was immediately established in connection with the tragedy. The President declared September 25 a day of mourning in Kazakhstan.
