Kazakh blogger and model Akbota Nurakhyn, known by the pseudonym Bota Mia, has found herself at the center of a major scandal on social media. Users from Kyrgyzstan are calling for her "cancellation" and the blocking of her accounts due to her controversial statements in an interview. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
A video shot backstage at an event in Kyrgyzstan has spread online. In the video, an interviewer asks Akbota about her feelings of being "on top." The influencer skeptically questioned this definition, saying something along the lines of: "What top? Is Kyrgyzstan a top?"
The reaction from internet users was immediate. Many considered such a statement a display of arrogance and disrespect towards the country and its people.
A wave of outrage erupted on social media. Users are leaving negative comments and calling for complaints against the blogger's page to get her account blocked. There are also calls for event organizers to refuse cooperation with her and no longer invite her to Kyrgyzstan.
