Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Qatar 3-1 in the third round of Group B at the 2026 World Cup. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The match took place on June 25 at Lumen Field in Seattle. The Bosnians opened the scoring in the 29th minute through Kerim Alajbegovic. Five minutes later, the European team's lead doubled after an own goal by Sultan Al-Brake.
Qatar got back into the game before halftime. In the 42nd minute, Hassan Al-Haydos reduced the deficit, giving his team a chance to save the match.
In the second half, Bosnia maintained their advantage and put the game to bed in the 80th minute. Ermin Mahmic scored the third goal, making it 3-1.
Despite the win, Bosnia and Herzegovina finished the group stage in third place. The team collected four points, the same as Canada, but lost out on goal difference. Switzerland topped Group B with seven points, while Qatar finished last with one point.
Bosnia now must wait for the results of other groups to see if four points will be enough to advance to the round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams.
