Broadcasts of the international tournament 'Future Games – 2026' held in Astana have garnered over 453 million views worldwide. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the 12-day competition brought together more than 800 participants from over 50 countries. The competition featured 108 teams competing in eight disciplines across four sports venues in the capital.
The total prize fund of the tournament amounted to $4.65 million, and nearly 29,000 spectators watched the teams' performances from the stands.
The international media coverage of the tournament was extensive: the competition was broadcast on 289 channels, including 56 media partners and 229 streamers, and was available in 20 languages across more than 150 countries and territories. The cumulative potential media audience of the tournament reached 7.68 billion people.
Kazakhstani teams competed in all eight disciplines of the tournament. The main achievement for domestic athletes was Team KZ winning the championship title in the Phygital Shooter (CS2) discipline.
Foreign viewers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the modern look of Astana, its sports facilities, and the country's developed infrastructure. Such international media coverage also contributed to enhancing Kazakhstan's tourism potential and generating interest in the country as a favorable destination for travel and hosting major international events.
Hosting such large-scale tournaments allows raising the professional level of domestic athletes and cyber athletes, attracting international experience and advanced technologies, as well as forming a new sports ecosystem where physical culture, digital skills, and modern technologies are combined.
