Since the beginning of the year, internal affairs bodies have identified 72 crimes related to human trafficking. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
At a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on combating human trafficking at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was noted that along with traditional forms such as forced labor, forced begging, sexual exploitation, and illegal organ harvesting, new forms of human trafficking based on involving citizens in cyber fraud and other criminal activities are becoming widespread.
According to the ministry, 15 victims of human trafficking were referred to social services for assistance. Following the meeting, participants identified priority areas for future work, including improving mechanisms for detecting human trafficking and raising public awareness.
