Vice Minister of Energy Kairkhan Tutkyshbaev spoke about the development prospects of the gas industry. According to him, Kazakhstan's gasification is being carried out within the framework of the General Gasification Scheme until 2035. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

As of January 1, 2025, 12.6 million people, or 62.4% of the country's population, have access to natural gas. As a result of the implementation of 82 gas supply projects, more than 354,000 residents in 94 settlements have been connected to natural gas. Over the year, more than 2,000 kilometers of gas pipelines were built, said Tutkyshbaev at the Central Communications Service.

According to the vice minister, this year 27.3 billion tenge has been allocated from the republican budget for the development of the gas transportation system. This will increase the gasification level to 64.3% and provide natural gas to an additional approximately 32,000 people.

Tutkyshbaev spoke about the project to build a new compressor station KS-14 and the main gas pipeline "KS-14 – Kostanay" in the Kostanay region. "The project is aimed at supplying natural gas to large industrial enterprises such as deep grain processing, alumina and aluminum production, a gas chemical complex, and hot briquetted iron production. This project is being implemented with the participation of Qatari investors. In addition, together with Qatari investors, the first stage of construction of the second line of the main gas pipeline 'Beineu – Bozoi – Shymkent' is being implemented," said the vice minister.

By the end of the year, it is planned to complete the construction of the linear part of the gas pipeline with a length of 1,500 kilometers and a capacity of up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Within the second stage, scheduled for 2027–2029, compressor stations will be built, and the capacity of the gas pipeline will increase to 15 billion cubic meters per year, the ministry said.
