The summit of heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in Bishkek from August 31 to September 1. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Following the summit, member states intend to develop industrial cooperation. Changes are also planned in the remittance system among member countries. Projects in transport and logistics corridors and energy were discussed.
During the live broadcast, participants answered these and other questions. From Bishkek, Almaz Bukalaev, the national SCO coordinator from Kyrgyzstan, and economist Kubatbek Rakhimov spoke. From Astana, Rustem Kurmangozhin, assistant professor at the International University of Information Technology and expert on Kazakhstan's international relations and foreign policy, participated. From Minsk, Nikolai Levchuk, Doctor of Political Sciences, and Olga Lazorkina, analyst at the Institute for Strategic Studies, joined. From Tashkent, a representative of the International Institute of Central Asia participated.
