A major fire at the Madina market in Bishkek engulfed about 400 square meters. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing 24.kg.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, ten fire crews are working at the scene. A drone was also used to assess the situation and coordinate extinguishing. Three water trucks from the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk" and three ambulance teams were sent to the market.
The fire broke out on the morning of August 30 in one of the containers and then spread to retail pavilions. According to a preliminary version of the Bishkek City Internal Affairs Department, the cause of the fire could be a short circuit in the electrical wiring.

According to police, there are no casualties. At the time of the fire, the market was not working: it was closed for three days, and traders were sent on forced leave.
The fire was localized. Rescuers continue to open closed containers to reach the remaining fire sources.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a fire occurred in a ten-story residential complex on Zhunisov Street in the Nauryzbai district of Almaty. Rescuers evacuated 28 people, including 13 children. The fire was extinguished, with no deaths or injuries.
