Kazakhstan's unified interbank QR payment system will launch on July 19, 2026. This was announced by National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov at a meeting of the Senate of Parliament. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Suleimenov, starting July 19 of this year, a unified interbank QR payment system will be launched. Thanks to the support of Parliament, the legal framework for launching this new economic sector was formed as of May 1.
All banks providing retail payment services will be required to connect to the Interbank Mobile Payment System. This system will allow consumers to make payments through mobile applications of various banks by scanning a single QR code.
