In schools of Kazakhstan, an adaptation program for first-graders in the Kazakh language is being introduced. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the order of the Ministry of Education, the program is aimed at developing practical communication skills. It is implemented through extracurricular activities or class hours using real-life communicative situations. These skills are applied in secondary education organizations, in the family, and in public places.

The program can be introduced at school upon a parent's application or upon a teacher's recommendation with the written consent of the parents. To launch the program, the school must meet the following conditions:

  • 01an approved list of students;
  • 02an approved plan and schedule for program implementation;
  • 03a favorable educational environment conducive to the development of students' communication skills;
  • 04educational and methodological materials corresponding to the goals and objectives of the program.

The program requires joint work not only of teachers but also of parents. It is expected that this initiative will help improve speaking skills in the Kazakh language and successful adaptation of students in society.
