Nine renovated railway stations were put into operation in one day across five regions of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
On July 29, stations Makat, Sagiz, Dossor in Atyrau region; Shamalgan, Kazybek bek in Almaty region; Daria, Myrza in Karaganda region; Sekseul in Kyzylorda region; and Zhelezorudnaya in Kostanay region were opened.
At Makat, Sagiz and Dossor stations, the supporting structures, roofs and facades of the buildings were renovated, and engineering networks were replaced. New furniture and modern equipment were also installed.
The renovated Makat railway station was built in 1966. This station serves 26 passenger trains traveling to other regions of Kazakhstan, as well as to Russia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
The Sagiz station, built in 1973, was expanded from 249 to 348 square meters. The station serves 12 passenger trains.
In total, 124 railway stations across Kazakhstan have been modernized and repaired.
